Ogun State government and Lagos State government are competing for the establishment of more industries through the offering of attractive incentives to new investors, in a bid to become the nation’s industrial hub.
While Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, is beckoning industrialists with industrial parks in the three senatorial districts, he has also subsidized the cost of land in a bid to attract investors to the state.
According to his Deputy Governor, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, “Industrializing the nation’s economy will no doubt all us to improve on our local production, expand export capacity and ultimately earn foreign exchange to boost and sustain the economy of the country” he stated.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Ogun state, Otunba Bimbola Ashiru disclosed that the massive infrastructural transformation of the state was geared towards catering for the good people of the state and creating a sustainable conducive environment for the business community.
“Notwithstanding the present status of the state as the industrial hub of the nation, the attraction of more investors and their influx is undisputable. The present administration in Ogun state under the leadership of Senator Ibikunle Amosun will not relent in its efforts on massive infrastructural development to cater for and sustain the needs of the various industries in its domain,” he said.
Similarly, Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode said as a promising global economic and financial hub, the state will not stop being a pathfinder in Nigeria’s drive for economic recovery and sustainable growth.
“Blessed with a buoyant private -sector-led economy, qualitative physical infrastructure, formidable legal and regulatory institutions, as well as enviable human capital comprising 60 percent labour force out of a population of over 22 million people; Lagos state indeed is the discerning investors’ delight”
Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello, stated that the government has started the process of generating 3,000 megawatts of the embedded power initiative towards increasing electric power generation in the state, to industries and homes.
‘Apart from improving the quality of lives and living standards of our teeming citizenry, our Infrastructure overhaul, especially over the past two years, is aimed at enhancing business prosperity and accelerating industrial revitalization.
The transportation sector has witnessed an aggressive boost with the construction of new roads, bridges and related infrastructure; as well as an overhaul of our waterways.
