“I am keen to learn more about Africa Export- Import Bank (Afreximbank) including the bank’s project for the

establishment of an internationally accredited Inspection and Testing Center in Nigeria.”
This were the words of Osita Aboloma, the Director -General, SON, when he received a delegation from the Afreximbank led by its President and Chairman , Dr. Okey Oramah, including the bank’s Regional Coordinator, Mr. Abdul Kone, to the SON office in Lagos.
Aboloma said that the agency is ready to collaborate with local and foreign partners to address the barriers hindering trade in the continent, noting that the volume of trade between African countries is still a far cry.
He also disclosed his organization’s ambition to attain international accreditation for 35 laboratories already being equipped in Lagos while working to expand the scope of its already accredited food technology laboratories in biological and chemical testing.
In his response, the Afreximbank President expressed the bank’s interest in working with the SON to enhance the Nigerian Quality infrastructure program for the benefit of the Nation’s economy and its people, the West African region as well as the African Continent at large.
