“THEY can come with beers from South Africa and USA, but we will win this fight. Competition is getting stronger, and we need you the distributors to win the battle.”
That was how Mr. JordiBorrutBel, Managing Director/CEO, Nigerian Breweries Plc, restated the company’s commitment to sustaining its market leadership of the brewery industry in Nigeria.
Speaking during the company’s 2018 Distributors Award, which has this theme: ‘Winning More Together,’ he said: “I heard competition here is tough, that these guys are tough, but this is my message: we are ready to fight this fight and you know who is going to win this fight; the one who will win is the one who has the stronger reasons to fight; we have investments, families, products and brewery plants to defend. We have been here for 72 years, and we have the products, we have the people, and infrastructure to do that. Remember I was there before as a distributor for 20 years.”
He, therefore, enjoined the distributors to be battle ready, saying: “Yes, these are challenging times; we will more than before focus on consumers, we need to work together because you are the ones that are closer to our consumers; we want to make them happy and excited, I am very sure you will take this fight very serious.”
Mr. UcheUnigwe, company’s Sales Director, also commended the transporters for` their outstanding performances during the year under review.
“Transporters moved 37 billion worth of our products from our 11 brewery plants across the country in 2017,” he said.
