Manufacturers woo Ogun Governor – Elect for representation on Economic Team

‘CONSIDER cabinet members from people with private sector background because it is impossible for appointees to give what they don’t have.’’

Seleem Adegunwa,the Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited , manufacturer of Bigi Drinks / Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, gave this advise to the incoming governor of the State Prince Dapo Abiodun, when they had a strategic meeting with him at the Flour Mills of Nigeria factory in Agbara, Ogn State.
Adegunwa said that having a private sector person on the cabinet , particularly from among manufacturers operating in the state , is ideal because , it is impossible for appointees to give what they don’t have.’’
Buttressing to this, Olanrewaju Ogunbajo, MAN’s Treasurer in the State, also implores the Governor-Elect, to: ‘’ engage the manufacturing sector and explore low hanging fruits.’’
‘You have willing manufacturers that think out of the box and you can make Ogun attractive for investment and for people who wish to live here,’’ he said.
In response to manufacturers demand, the Governor –elect, said: ‘’ whatever we need to do to create enabling environment, we will do.
Further, he told the manufacturers that he plans to increase the ranking of the state in the ease of doing business scale; will be holding meeting manufacturers twice a year , and that he will focus on rural and industrial roads once he is sworn in.
