“WE are rebranding Nigerian Association of Agricultural Journalists (NAAJ) to match international status and to domesticate activities of our parent body, International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) in Nigeria”
Mr. Emmanuel Ogbonnaya, the new president of NAAJ , said today, during the handover ceremony of Instruments of Office, to the new executive of the association’s at its Secretariat at NACCIMA House, Lagos.
He lauded the former President of the association, Stanley Ihedigbo, for having brought the brand to birth some years ago and for having given it a seat at IFAJ, thus representing Nigeria.
“Before now, the association was operating without a website and we are changing all that; we have bought a domain name : (www.naaj.ng); our logo is being redesigned among other rebranding activities lined up. The website will help our members to projecting their stories in addition to domestication of IFAJ programmes and activities, fao and world food programmes, wfp,” he said.
My RICE Agenda for NAAJ
On his area of focus, he said: ” I have come up with what I called RICE programme:
R = Research, I=Investment , C= Capacity building and E= Exploration.”
Mr. Charles Okonji, the president of the Commerce and Industry Association of Nigeria, commended the new leadership for the set agenda and said :
” The agenda you have put forward are very good and you are stating out on a very sound footing. It means you understand what it takes to have a strategy to run an association or organisation.”
