The President, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Alwan Hassan as the acting Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture (BoA).
Nation Update Online reported that Hassan a former Executive Director of Bank PHB takes over from Kabir Mohammed Adamu, who has been in the service of the BOA since 2013, the President also approved the immediate dissolution of the interim management team of the bank.
In a statement signed by Theodore Ogaziechi, Director of Information, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, stated that Hassan was a seasoned banker with over two decades of experience in the banking industry and was Chairman/CEO Midrange Universal Biz Limited.
The statement, has it that his appointment was conveyed to him in a letter dated May 5, 2020, referenced. PRES/95/MARD/14. Signed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono.

The minister stated that the appointment of Hassan was most apt and would expectedly turn the fortunes of the bank around owing to his experiences at Bank PHB, FirstBank of Nigeria, African International Bank Limited, United Bank for Africa and the Central Bank of Nigeria which have spanned for decades.
