Joseph Oru, EMWA Project Director, said in a statement ahead of the EXPO that will hold at the Land Mark Centre, Lagos.
He noted that women’s participation in the manufacturing and Industrial sectors needs to be encouraged for inclusive development and a thriving economy.
“Studies reveal that when women are economically enabled, countries observe a boost in income generation, wealth creation, and economic diversification.
“In this regard, inclusive industrialization where women and their male counterparts cofunction to spearhead the continent’s economy needs to be provided,” he said.
While noting that the event will shed light on the prospects and challenges encompassing equal participation of men and women in the continent’s industrial sector, “the session will focus on the skills required by women in the manufacturing and industrial realm,” he said.
